We have sailed a lot on P&O so my review makes comparisons. The public areas of QV were stunning.

In my opinion chairs and sofas should look that they want to be sat IN not sat ON and QV passed this test with flying colours.

I also loved all the wood panelling.

We had a balcony cabin which was of the same standard to P&O.

We ate breakfast & dinner in the maid dining room, the menu/service was very slightly better than P&O but not markedly so.

We lunched a number of times in the buffet and found it to be equal to P&O ( Good to see an ice cream machine in there though)

Our 3 week Fly Cruise from Rome saw passengers arriving and leaving every week, a big percentage under their own steam, this flexibility may have contributed to the feeling of disjointed administration on board, we certainly didn’t feel that Cunard were wrapping their arms around us.

As Baltic tier P&O customers we are used to receptions, lunches and priority boarding.

As Cunard Newbies we literally ignored.

On board we were frequently reminded about the traditional supremacy of Cunard which they are rightly proud of, but they need to focus on delivery a bit harder.

As an example, formal evening dress was either not practised by or was just nodded to by a large percentage of passengers.

( Very similar level to P&O).

In short we felt the organisation didn’t match the reputation but never the less we had a lovely cruise.
