I am someone who is sick in a puddle so cruising wasn’t my first choice of holiday.

However a fly cruise was chosen to hopefully sail the calm waters of the Med.

We had 2 weeks of calm waters and the Queen Victoria was an ideal base to visit many interesting places.

The ship has the reputation of being a traditional cruise ship aimed at the 50+ age range and she provided a perfect home from home to travel in and return to after a day ashore.

The staff on board were polite, helpful and charming and always there if needed.

Food in both the restaurant and the buffet was exceptional, even the ice creams and fruit brought round to the swimming pools on sea days was lovely.

There was always the option of doing nothing or choosing something to do everyday.

Selecting a lecture, dance lessons or a jigsaw in a quiet corner and then ending the evening at the theatre.

Something for everyone indeed.

Our stateroom was an ocean view ie big window no balcony, which had everything needed although the bathroom was on the small size, but fine.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very well looked after by our room steward.

Even the free launderette was a pleasure to use.

We visited many interesting places on our shore excursions, booked through Cunard who provided knowledgeable guides although another option would be to do it yourself.

Guided tours meant going to the front of the queues and lots of info which might otherwise be missed.

Our first cruise was a great success and we look forward to more in the future.
