At the start, the seats on the Skills coach were cramped with my knees tuching the seat in front.
At Southampton we were well looked after and were soon in our cabin.The Addaptable cabin was spacious with a large balcony.
The only issue was the tv which was very small more like a laptop.
Queen Victoria is a lovely ship and easy to get around, especially for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.It lookes as though it had a refit recently because all of the floor coverrings looked clean and new.
We had a table for two in the Britania restaurant for the first time and it suited us.The table waiters ( Romeo and Ria) were fantastic and very helpfull.
Our Head Waiter was also very attentive and helped Jackie choose her food to avoid problems.
Everyone who has sailed on Victoria will know how fantastic the library is,probably the best of any ship that we have sailed on.
However the Lido food hall left a lot to be desired.Not having a tray to carry our food meant extra journeys to find another course.P&O have ‘can we help’ staff to help disabled passengers to use the self service resaurant,Cunard don’t.
We were disapointed with the quality of acts in the theater,the only bright spot was the Irish comedian William Caulfield, who had a full house on both of his shows.William relates humerous stories rather than tell outright jokes, and he doesn’t need to use foul language.
We hadn’t booked any tours because we have been to the Caneries several times, so we just had a steady meander around.
I was on my Mobility Scooter and Jackie just took a steay stroll.
Having said that we did manage to go about two miles at some ports.
We were aware of Carnival’s attitude towards Disabled passengers, but we have never seen so many of us on any ship.
There were strollers,walking stcks and a few mobility scooters which were most noticable in the restaurants.
We did try to book another cruise while on board, but because of me being disabled, they said that we would only be able to do so through our booking agent,ie you.
All in all we had a lovely relaxing time, and we met quite a few oassengers, who like us always book with Bolsover Cruise Club.
