The Cruise itself was very good in terms of the friendliness and efficiency (where it was possible) of the onboardstaff, but was spoiled by the ship itself.
It’s appalling – from the drab, uninspiring decor, the hard to see buttons in the lift, the somehat random layout of bars and lounges, to the fact that here is a promenade deck that is almost entirely deviod of any sea views due to the presence of lifeboats at pedestrian level.
In our cabin (5085) the door to the baclcony creaked and rattled so much when not in absolutely calm waters, that it was difficult to sleep.
After reporting this to the purser’s office, someone finally came out (three times) to look at it, tried to fix it and we were eventually told it couldn’t be fixed until the ship went in for a re-fit – it’s only been at see for less than a year.
I pity whoever has been assigned this cabin on the current world cruise.
We won’t be going on board this creaky, badly built tub again.
Talking with both other passengers and the crew/hotel staff, this was a common complaint.
A lot of the hotel staff were trying to get back to their previous ships as soon sa they could.
