Firstly the positives – we enjoyed our cruise despite river water levels. Saga tried very hard to overcome these issues.
Staff were helpful and friendly. It was a relaxed atmosphere. Cabins a little small, though reasonably clean and shower room excellent. Storage good. Food and drink also good though ‘samey’.
Excellent help at airport both entry and exit – couldn’t be faulted.
Negatives – paid £48 for 4 Lufthansa flight seats, when everyone we spoke to had been allocated their seats for free! Very disappointing we were not informed about this.
On the ship, no toilets working for over 7 hours ( a blockage apparently) . This was stressful.
No electricity in cabin whilst this was being looked at, apart from emergency lighting.
Air conditioning haphazard in main areas ( fortunately not in cabin).
Captain/ staff not forthcoming with what was happening with recurring problems.
Unfortunately river cruising not quite what we’d hoped for – ships too small, with many obstacles to overcome.
We would like to inform Saga of our thoughts but so far haven’t been sent a questionnaire.
