From the moment we drove up to the parking terminal at Southampton, we knew we this ship was something special.
The sheer size of this beautiful ship is staggering, and makes for an impressive first glimpse! Whilst unloading the (multiple) bags from the car, and stealing glances up at our home for the next 3 days, we spotted some interesting sights! Sitting proud up on deck 15, for no apparent reason, we saw ‘Gigi’ the full size Giraffe, watching over the Rock Climbing Wall! She made for a great photo opportunity later in the day.
We could also see the innovative and exciting North Star, which takes you up for a 360 view of the ship!! Once onboard, the ‘WOW’ factor continued.
The spectacular design that has been lavishly implemented on Anthem Of The Sea’s is carried throughout, from the Promenade, right into the staterooms.
Everything has been given the full works, and the attention to detail is incredible.
The main restaurants comprise 4 different dining venues, Silk (Oriental Fusion), Chic (Contemporary dining), The Grande (traditional menu), and American Icon (American style Steak/Grill).
We dined in Chic and American Icon, and had no complaints about either.
The decor is stunning, the service impeccable, and the food was delivered quickly, and tasted amazing! The staff themselves seemed so excited to be working onboard the newest ship in the fleet, and their enthusiasm carried over to us! If you have children, whether tiny’s or teens they will never want to leave! The childrens area’s are so well fitted, with all the toys, games, consoles and activities that they could want! The outdoor area’s do not disappoint, with a superb splash pool, lazy river style pool, and H20 zone.
I would perhaps suggest, that if you prefer the more intimate, smaller ships, then the Anthem Of The Sea’s may not be the one for you.
But if you are excited by innovation, gadgets, technology, surprises and above all FUN, then why haven’t you booked already??? On this ship you will be surprised and delighted with each turn, from coming across and full size Bumper Car ring, which doubles as a Roller Disco in the evenings, to a Hot Dog Van nestled alongside, stunning artwork across the entire ship, with a fun surprise when the lift doors open, there is something to WOW and invoke Ooooh’s and Aaaaah’s in all of us.
