Arcadia cruise J506 30th May 2025
Stayed onboard from cruise J505.
Having had considerable problems with our dining arrangements on Arcadia J505.
We tried to ensure things would be all correct for this cruise.
How wrong we were.
They still managed to get my wife and I and our two friends, although linked together, booked on different tables.
Although eventually resolved, it was not what we had requested in the first place.
Moving on, the weather overall was good although cold at times with a reasonable amount of sunshine.
The seas were generally calm and sailing the fjords very smooth.
The scenery was absolutely amazing.
Really enjoyed all the places we visited.
If you haven’t cruised the fjords I can certainly recommend it.
Staff onboard looked after us well, as usual.
Particularly Jover & Lezter our breakfast waiters in the Meridian restaurant and Estela our cabin stewardess.
We have noticed the menus offered on formal night are not a patch on what they used to be.
The standard of food wasen’t quite as good as the first cruise J505.
For instance, five of the six on our table went for the Texan chilli.
We all returned the dish as the meat was tough and well under cooked.
We were told a lot of other tables had the same complaint.
Also, some dishes arrived at the table almost cold.
I don’t know if this was due to the change in Executive Chef or down to something else.
The entertainment overall was good.
But again we still had the same dull, drab and boring busker.
Would prefer just some background music than hear this everytime we have to pass through where he is making his noise.
Again duty free is a bit on the expensive side as you can buy single bottles of spirit as cheap, or cheaper in Tesco’s.
Overall we again had a lovely cruise onboard with our friends.
Looking forward to our next cruise on Arcadia later in the year.
