The Arcadia did not live up to our expectations.
The ship’s staff struggled to cope – I believe most staff were new or moved from other ships- it was not their fault.
Procedures in place once embarking the ship were chaotic – we were all put on over crowded lifts up to the buffet with no map or key card to our cabins.
Once on board we discovered that no specialist dining was to be available- no notification was given beforehand.
The ship’s app for booking meals in the restaurant was useless – the website crashed just about every night which was very stressful and something you didn’t need whilst on holiday.
Just about all the theatre shows we had seen on previous cruises (although we have only been on four).
The destination ports all fantastic and this is what made our cruise.
Having said that The Faroe Island was cancelled before we boarded the boat and Holyhead maiden port was abandoned as the sea was too choppy early morning- by 11 am the sea was like a mill pond but the captain had made his decision and we had to just sit on the deck and take in the views from there all day.
