The cabin we booked was a guaranteed balcony with probably obstructed balcony.
We did not know exact cabin until 3 weeks before sailing.
We had travelled on this class of ship previously and knew there are many obstructed view cabins.
Our cabin had the window cleaning machine outside which moved several times without warning.
This meant lack of privacy as well of view.
Worse was the noise when the sea was rough in Bay of Biscay.
There was creaking and banging which went on for hours at night when we were at sea.
Guest relations were supportive and asked us to contact them whenever it happened but in the middle of the night it is not really an option.
Many other guests seem to have similar problems and we have been offered a future cruise credit.
As said it was our 4th cruise on Edge class ship and our second on the Apex.
The staff are excellent.
The food and waiters in the Cyprus restaurant were excellent.
We had booked a package of meals in the speciality restaurants and found that we preferred the main restaurants.
The ship is great and we would certainly go on her again as it is so easy to board at Southampton .
The ship did not return to the same berth so the car was not where we expected.
I am not sure about booking an unspecified cabin but we have booked on board for a fly cruise next year and done the same thing! This time on the Eclipse and have studied the deck plans.
We are very much celebrity fans having sailed 24 times with them over 20 years.
