The Iona is like a very large block of flats on sea.
No welcome on boarding, extremely no interest from any staff waiters or white jackets and to go to the reception and ask a question you may as well ask the wall because you will get a better or only answer.
A reception officer called Kenneth was the most unhelpful person we met on the ship because no matter what we asked he did not have any answers.
The conservatory cabin on deck 9 was alright for very skinny people to enjoy because floor space is at a premium due to what they fit in.
The balcony outside our cabin was always swimming in water due to no drain point and wrong slope on decking so we paddled water into the cabin all the time and the floor in the conservatory had very prominent staining due to the water marking.
The only thing that we liked was the food which was fine as P&O supplies on most of its ships.
We are an old school couple who love set dining when you meet other people and get friends for a time but freedom dining has killed this stone dead.
P&O to be going for big family holidays and forgetting about the old school who like different things. We have been on P&O ships with a mixed set dining and free dining which was fine but apparently this is not done anymore.
IONA is a “you must like type of ship”and the one to be launched in December will be exactly the same.
I have never seen the chaos like the demarcation cases building, people people everywhere trying to find cases which were not where they should be and people then almost fighting to get out and blocking all alleyways out.
