Have now done 11 cruises with P&O and this was the first that we did not enjoy.
We had a super de lux balcony cabin.
It was clean and the cabin steward was excellent, however, it was in need of refurbishment, the carpet and curtains were old and frayed and the decor was marked and faded.
In public areas, some of the lifts were out of order for the entire cruise including the 2 lifts in the atrium.
The cruise was blighted by a Norovirius which had been present on the previous cruise and which I unfortunately suffered, meaning I was confined to our cabin for a number of days.
The staff worked hard to combat the infection but some of them, understandably, looked totally bored and fed up with the situation, especially in the buffet restaurant where they were required to serve us.
We have always cruised with P&O because we knew what the bench mark was, but sadly, we feel that on this occasion the bench mark has been lowered.
