This was our forth cruise on Iona and I have to say, had it been our first, we would not return.
Although the cruise was outside of school holidays there were a large number of teenagers onboard, the majority of who were fine, but then a number who congregated in groups and intent on unacceptable behaviour.
As a few examples, shouting to each other or their parents as they entered the theatre and whistling/shouting loudly around the Sky Dome when the shows were on.
Entering the self service restaurants in wet swimming costumes unchallenged and causing wet floors from dripping clothing.
That said, it wasn’t just teenagers causing problems.
Adults (30/40 year olds) arguing in public area and making threats of harm.
One woman had to be pulled away from another woman after the woman being taken away was heard threatening to give the other lady a good kicking once at Southampton.
Despite this, no member of staff intervened although they were there.
It was evident that a lot of the problems were down to alcohol and resembled something akin to a Benidorm stag night and not a cruise liner.
If PO are intent on attracting that type of customer, then so be it.
We have two further cruises booked with PO but will be very reluctant to book a similar cruise if the problems experienced are repeated.
We did give similar feedback to PO, but they have chosen not to respond.
On a more positive note, the ship is lovely and apart from the few idiots allowed on board, the vast majority of passengers were very nice.
Great staff and first class food.
