Although this was my 38th P&O cruise, I had not been on Britannia before.
A large, elegant ship, she had very recently been refitted, and was still having teething problems.
One of these was the fact that only one of the two shallow steps leading to the Crystal Room was lit, and several people tripped up them, including myself, necessitating an expensive visit to the medical centre with a dislocated shoulder.
The steps were subsequently both lit with red lights.
The food in the restaurants was good, but a little lacking in variety.
Our balcony cabin was clean and comfortable but lacking in storage space (shelves and hooks would have been useful).
There was a lack of announcements, especially on the last morning, which delayed our disembarkation.
The crew were excellent, especially those in the restaurant.
Our shower was leaking throughout the whole cruise, despite the fact that we had reported this early on.
The sublime weather helped to make the cruise enjoyable, despite the above shortcomings.
