We have just returned from a cruise to Northern Ireland, Iceland and Norway on the Arcadia.

The public areas on the ship were kept in very good order and clean and tidy.

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The food was excellent throughout the voyage so was the service.

We did try the buffet breakfast but it did seem a little chaotic and finding a seat was difficult.

There were no trays so once a table was found it was a relay back and forth with tea, toast and food etc.

By the time it came round to eating it was at best only warm.

Served breakfast was a massive improvement, far better than the scramble in the Belvedere Buffet.

Evening meals in the Meridian Restaurant were always pleasant with fast efficient service by our lovely waiters.

For me, 2 days in Reykjavik as too long.

1 day would have been enough.

We paid £68 to go on the hop on hop of bus which was not worth it.

It was really a tour around car parks in a bus with very little leg room for taller passengers and a driver that wanted to show how good the brakes were! Avoid.

All shore bound trips are expensive.

Grundarfjordur is stunning, no other word for it.

Only a small town and very quiet.

It was worth coming on this trip just to visit there.

Isafjorder, Akureyri, Alesund and Skjolden were all lovely places to visit with my own preference being for the Icelandic fjords.

One negative point about the Arcadia is the panoramic widows in the Crows Nest on Deck 10.

Many of them need replacing as they were fogged up and difficult to see through.

To sum up, the Arcadia was a nice ship to cruise on.

Lovely staff, great food, nightly entertainment with plenty of sunshine along the way.

Good value for money
