We sailed with P&O Cruises on board Arcadia.
Arcadia is an older ship and although she has had a refit she still looks a little tired. She’s a smaller cruise ship (10 decks) but didn’t feel small to us. Staff are friendly, food is lovely and entertainment was both good and varied. Great destinations – we did Canary Islands.
We had a balcony cabin – loads of storage! Great space and a small bath with shower above. Take European and US plug adapters as only one UK socket.
Shops were few: jewellery, clothes, bags, chocolate and perfume I think.
Entertainment was very good. I was really impressed with the quality of acts and performers. The entertainment manager excellent and very funny. No need to book too.
As well as different drinking areas there’s a cinema, costa coffee, library, cards room, crows nest is well worth a visit!, swimming pool, indoor and outdoor deck chairs.
Food: Main dining, Buffet, Sindhu (extra), outdoor grill around pool and another ( fine steaks and lobster – I forget the name) which was extra.
Staff: all were excellent and devoted to making your holiday extra special.
We loved it! At the moment no children ship but I think there are plans to change that.
Negatives: (obviously personal) No big atrium and limited places to sit and read a book if you didn’t want a pub or a deckchair. Queuing for a table in the main restaurant as the app was filled on the first day by savvy cruisers (we chose freedom dining which I think was a mistake for us).
Overall loved it and would definitely go again!!
