Ventura N504 27th February 2025.
Had a really good cruise overall.
Embarkation and disembarkation were quick and efficient.
Weather was very good and both crossings calm.
Staff, as usual were excellant.
Food overall was generally good, however, they are packing meals out with unecessary breads, crutons etc.
The one exception was the offering at our Ligurian luncheon.
This was poor to say the very least.
Did not feel like we were P&O’s valued customers.
The starter and deserts were the worst we have had, no offer of a soup to start or cheese plate to finish anymore.
Our breakfast and dinner waiters looked after us very well.
Our cabin steward was really good too.
Something P&O need to get better is the information regarding formal night.
Only two of the five were on the dates as previously advertised.
Nearly all ports of call were really good with the exception of Rosseau, Dominica.
We were put in the commercial port.
It was announced that the walk into town was five to seven minutes.
I am a fast walker and it took me over thirty minutes each way.
I reported this to reception and was told that is what the port authorities had told them.
I was told they would change the annoucement to twenty to twentyfive minutes (still not close to the real time).
For reference to those on future cruises an observation of mine is onboard prices have risen considerably since last year.
For instance £3 on a bottle of wine.
Speciality meal supplements by £2 to £3.
Glasshouse steaks by £4 to £5 and Tappas by £3.55 for three.
These are by no means small increases.
Some of the entertainment left a lot to be desired.
Same old acts, same old routines.
Really do not rate the Buskers as entertainment, probably really cheap.
We were told only passports accepred in St.Kitts by P&O reception.
I asked a Customs Officer what documents were required to return to the ship.
I was told Passports, Driving Licence, any photo ID, including photo ID on our phones were all accepted.
Once again misinformation from P&O.
Plus an unnecessary risk in taking our passports ashore.
Overall had a really enjoyable cruise.
Met up with old friends and made some new ones.
Its a great way of getting away from the poor weather back home.
Long may it last.
