Embarkation on the Aurora was well oiled and was effortless A great start to our first trip to the Norwegian Fjords.
Despite everything most people had prewarned us about the weather we had a mainly dry and sunny trip.
The crew were all exemplary in every way and could not do enough for us.
One of the best teams we’ve encountered and we we both are somewhat seasoned cruises.
The on board entertainment in all venues was quite good, even though we had seen most of the acts before.
The headliners and resident band Pulse certainly gave 100% and put on a few singalong clap along shows and the speciality acts were definitely worth watching.
The stops were varied and catered for all sorts.
Although we did not go on any prearranged trips from the ship we never heard anyone complaining either about the cost or value for money of the trips so they must have been worth it.
The only negative for the whole cruise was the food in the Medina main restaurant.
Lunchtime menu was invariably baguette or brioche bun with some sort of cold or hot meat filling Hardly fine dining The meals in the evening were varied but lacked wow factor and the good at lunch time and in the evenings was often cool and sometimes cold We have been repeatedly advised by P&O reservations that if the good is not up to standard you should complain at the time but frankly we got fed up of stating the obvious and simply decided not to let the food ruin our holiday.
As the heading says Wonderful relaxing cruise shame about the food Would we do the same trip again Yes we’ve already booked same trip same ship next year You really have to let the slight annoyances pass over you if you enjoy cruising Here to our next cruise.
