Last week I stayed overnight onboard Norwegian Escape in Southampton ahead of her Transatlantic voyage to Miami.
What a magnificent ship, huge (and perhaps a little ugly) on the outside, inside she definitely does have the WOW factor.
Dark, sultry and luxurious decor, well thought out spaces and plenty of bars, restaurants and entertainment venues to keep you busy.
The choice of restaurants is phenomenal, although many of them have a cover charge ranging from $9 – $69 per person.
We dined in the Teppanyaki restaurant and this is highly recommended.
The ship is perfect for families and anyone looking for a hive of activity on their holiday.
There was a great party atmosphere on this ship, particularly around the outdoor pool areas.
I can definitely see this being popular in the Caribbean.
Kids will be very well entertained, my 7-year old son would be in his element on this ship.
If you’re wanting zip wires, crazy golf and plenty of poolside bars the you will not be disappointed.
Our balcony stateroom wasn’t particularly large, however it was stylishly decorated.
The corridor from the lift area to the staterooms was a bit bizarre, lacking all of the exuberant decor found elsewhere on the ship, it felt like we were heading to the crew quarters rather than to our accommodation.
Inside the bathroom was plenty big enough though with proper shower screens and good lighting.
One night is definitely not enough to get around the whole ship, but we had a peek in the theatre which is very grand, and the private area called The Haven for Suite Guests which offered exclusive access to another pool, sundeck and private dining room.
