Having cruised previously with Holland America we were expecting great things from this new ship.
However, we found it to be too modern , not a comfortable chair on the ship, not enough places to sit outside even on a cruise day, very tight cabins.
We booked a Vista Suite, and were so astounded at the size I went down to reception to tell them they had put us in the wrong cabin there were a number of older clients already there asking the same question.
Some more thought needs to be put into this Ship.
It has no library or book exchange, which seems ridiculous as there are so many books being discarded each week.
There is not enough interesting things to do on sea days, as you can’t find a seat outside to just sit and read.
There are lovely looking cream leather couches on the upper pool deck around the pool, b ut once someone it sitting there, although the couches probably hold four people, you don’t feel inclined the disturb them by sitting there also.
The seating area in the Lido is awful, with long tables with banquettes at the back, which are most difficult to get into, and are space wasting, as once someone is sitting at the end, you cannot get into the middle.
There are many more points which having spoken to people we met all agreed were not well thought out.
The saving grace was the wonderful food, and the brilliant theatre.
It is a young persons ship and will be well greeted by anyone who just wants a fun time and good food.
