With one exception we really enjoyed this cruise.
Embarkation was as good as we have experienced in the past.
Our stateroom was very spacious, clean and well serviced by the two room stewards.
All the staff on board were friendly and helpful.
The ship looked well kept with staff cleaning public areas as well as painting the outside on a daily basis.
The food was OK.
About the same standard as on other cruises although some folk we talked to at dinner thought it was not as good as some they had experienced.
The Lido (buffet) was just the same as other cruises.
Too many people searching for a table although the service was quite quick.
One man commented it looked like feeding time at the Zoo.
However the food on offer was better than some we have experienced.
Drink prices were about on par with other cruises but were increased by the compulsory addition of a service charge.
These days cruise lines need to sort out issues of dress codes.
Hardly anyone wore black ties and even on Gala nights there were men in the dining room in polo shirts and jeans.
I do not care what the dress code is but if formal wear is now no longer seen necessary by those on holiday then scrap it.
The tours we took were well organised and the guides very knowledgeable.
However, the last stop but one was a waste of time.
Wandering round the small town with very little of interest in the heat was not pleasant.
Most people returned to the ship within about half an hour of getting off.
Our flight home was cancelled and we were booked onto a flight just before midnight on the day before we were due to disembark.
Thus we spent the last afternoon packing missing our final dinner and a chance to say thanks to certain members of the crew who had been very helpful.
