I initially had huge reservations regarding this trip fur my hubby’s 60th birthday. It really was so out of our ‘comfort zone’ but thankfully we really enjoyed the trip and now have lovely memories to keep.
The booking process was simply & the yep was very knowledgeable about our trip as she had experience it herself.
We took the option of the ‘free’ coach transfer with list on board spend . All worked like clockwork & a comfortable journey.
The embarkation process was very well organised with very little waiting & we were soon on board & in our lovely, clean room.
The ship is a little confusing to navigate as it’s so large but we managed ok as everyone else onboard was lost too!
We used the main dining rooms most of the time & why not as it’s well managed with lovely food in a nice environment. We tried the buffet a couple of times but found it busy & confusing & food quality wasn’t as good.
The Crows Nest bar was our favourite for sunset watching but there are many livelier places to try if that’s your thing.
Entertainment – we enjoyed the shows in the Theatre most nights & once in the smaller 710 club. We found booking very easy for most venues on the ship except the 710 club which almost feels like a secret as booking are not released until 10.15 the evening for the next day.
The Ports were all ok but our favourite by far was Stavenger & wish we had more time there.
We didn’t book any P&O trips as they were expensive and using the local companies were easy & cheaper.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip but don’t really feel we would do another cruise unless the venues were hard to reach any other way as we enjoy exploring a country by ourselves under our own steam.
