Great to see a cruise ship virtually full again: for this one the Arcadia took us to Malaga, Palermo in Sicily, Piraeus for Athens, Rhodes, Heraklion in Crete and finally Gibraltar.
First class food, excellent entertainment the only downside was that some passengers refused to try the ‘MyHoliday’ app, deciding instead to jump queues at the dining venues and spoil it for those who did.
Ah well, the British human nature ….!!! Whilst it may be one of the older P&O ships Arcadia does have roomy cabins, a good general layout and plenty of space around the pool and open deck areas.
The Captain, Chris Bourne, kept us well informed with his daily broadcasts and, sadly, the two ‘Medivac’ incidents, and the staff couldn’t do enough to keep passengers happy.
Most of the stages in getting back to the old ‘normal’ are now in sight, the next step will be the welcome aboard and cocktail parties.
Fingers crossed!!
