Generally the food was good and the theatre shows.
The cabin was good (ship is only 4 years old I think) now the downsides – it is very noisy everywhere inside with thump thump “background” music, except it is not background, it is loud.
They have altered the timing of the evening show to 7.30pm so you have to eat very early, unless you want to wait until 9.30pm.
There was a great show Caravan, but they located this in The Club, which only seats about 100 people (there are 3000+ on board).
There looked to be some other good shows which we had to miss as they were late at night and again in very small venues instead of the theatre.
There were a lot of children on board, even though the cruise was June, as 90% of the passengers were American and I think the schools must have broken up.
Some of them were allowed to roam around unaccompanied which caused problems.
Hand hygiene in the buffet was poor, people walking in and not challenged by the staff to use the gel etc.
3 days after we came home my husband became ill with the Nimbus variant of COVID which is predominant in America.
We certainly weren’t expecting so many Americans on a Southampton cruise, bearing in mind they would all have had long haul flights to get to the UK I’m not surprised there was COVID on board.
Perhaps people should bear this in mind if booking Celebrity.
We wouldn’t travel with Celebrity again because of the noise problems anyway, we don’t go on holiday to be in a permanent disco.
